Announcing a Partnership with Sarasota University!
Brush Development Company and Sarasota University are pleased to offer our Montessori Elder Care Practitioner Certification students a Dual Enrollment option. The Dual Enrollment option is available to students interested in receiving a Montessori Elder Care Practitioner Certification from Brush Development, as well as college credits from Sarasota University.
Upon successful completion of the required coursework and other necessary criteria, students will receive a credential from Brush Development and college credits from Sarasota University.
How It Works
- Enroll in From Can’t to Can Do! : Montessori for Aging and Dementia Introductory Workshop. The class can be taken online (self-paced) or in person (2 consecutive days) through Brush Development. Workshop fee is $199.00.
- Enroll in Montessori Elder Care Practitioner Certification Course through Brush Development directly after completing the introductory workshop (within 12 months). The Certification Course runs twice per year, starting in January and July. Certification Course fee is $600, plus books. Before the Certification Course begins, register as a student at Sarasota University through the dual enrollment option using this link https://www.sarasotauniversity.edu/admissions/
- Participate in the Brush Development Practitioner Certification Course. During months 3 and 6, you will be required to upload a completed assignment in the Sarasota University portal.
- At the end of the semester, Brush Development will notify Sarasota University that all certification requirements have been met and will send students their Brush Development certificate.
- Once all of Sarasota University’s requirements have been met, they will provide a transcript of credit hours earned.
Credit Hours
Students who complete the Montessori Elder Care Practitioner Certification course through Brush Development will earn 9 credit hours toward a Bachelor’s degree or 6 credit hours toward a Master’s degree. These credits are also available to healthcare professionals and educators who would like to use college credit for professional development to maintain their licenses or teaching certifications.
With this partnership, Sarasota University is waiving the application fee and offering an adjusted rate of 50% off per credit hour for Brush Development students. See Sarasota University ’s website for information for cost per credit hour.
